Last Christmas

Paalam na Kachorra, AKA Popoy. Ikaw ang first love ko. Lagi kong maaalala ang matatamis nating pag-arangkada.

Last Christmas,
I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away.

This year
To save me from tears,
I'll give it to someone special.

Any suggestions?

cheers to a very long weekend

Walang pasok sa Friday. Yuhoo!

                *       *       *

                *        *        *

                                        *      *      *

All I want for Christmas...

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Sunday I gave a kidney (1000 points). In March I turned in for eating carbs (3 points). Last Friday I put money in 's expired parking meter (14 points). Last Saturday I signed my organ donor card (28 points). In April I gave a Dutch Oven (-10 points).

Overall, I've been nice (1035 points). For Christmas I deserve a Wii!

Sincerely,

Quote of the Day

Let me ask you this, I live in New York City. Eight million people in the city. And only thing that separates us is chance. Do you think anyone of them can walk in to your life and change it, forever.
--- Carlos played by Jay Hernandez
                                                                                         Six Degrees (ABC)

Oh my...

I was talking to my mom in England over the phone when I spurted out the words:

Happiness is having a good paying job, getting a husband and starting a family.

What am I saying?

Time Capsule

Since my recent travels to Sta Cruz Laguna had given me tons of church-related footages, I sent two of my best photos to Yahoo's ongoing Time Capsule contributions. Fortunately, both of my pictures were chosen to be shown on the site. Lucky me! The first photo is an altar, the second one is a stained glass panel.

Click on the thumbnails to see the images.

What a mess!

Since I'm soo bored this sem break, I tried to cook lunch today.

At the back is my kasambahay assisting me with my latest creation, Mushroom Soup with Carrots and Corn. The finished product turned out to be delicious.

Mini Buko Pies

I accidentally discovered this delicious pastry during my recent travels in Laguna.

The custardy buko (young coconut meat) filling is creamy and the pie crust is flaky. I bought an entire box. The Mini Buko Pie tastes better than each slice of the normal buko pie because the flavor of the smaller version is more concentrated. The size of each pie could be compared to a closed fist. The normal sized buko pie is now obsolete. It is available at the roadside stalls along the major highway after Los Banos Laguna.

Stolen from a Hallmark Card

You are and always will be
the most amazing person
who ever smiled into my eyes.
Every morning,
your smile give me the courage to take on the day...

Your smile gives me a feeling
of calm reassurance every night.
So on this day devoted to our love,
I'm counting the everyday reasons
you've given me to know that my life is good.
Very Good.
In the circle of your arms,
I feel strong and hopeful.

Time moves on,
and the world changes around us,
sometimes faster than we can keep up with it...
And through it all,
I know
I'll be depending on upon your smile,
loving you more than I can say,
hoping you'll always be mine.

Happy Anniversary.

Just in the time of nick

Fortunately, my tita's house in the same village already had electricity when I got back home. By the time I arrived at my house, power was not yet available so I called my Tita up to tell kuya Al to fetch me so that I could bring my PC back to civilization. Finally, by 11pm yesterday, I was able to render, edit and post-produce a music video for Pol Sci class the following day, err, in a few hours. The video turned out great, with accurately timed lip sync of the characters. The beat of the song also matches the dance movements of the raw footage. Im going to upload it soon, but only until the phone lines are back up.

It was a great show indeed, the video even includes the out takes clip.

Running on Reserve Power

Remember the series called 24? Almost every hour yesterday was exciting and weird enough to merit an entire TV episode.

12mn
I was lining up for tickets for UAAP Game 2. I was crazy enough to camp out the yellow gate ticket booth with two other 2nd year Ateneans. I only met them that night.

1am
Another Atenean joined us who brought a guitar. Imagine sober people singing in a non-sober way.

2am
Six more people lined up, most of them are drivers and yayas of other Ateneans. Now I'm reduced to such low level. I started out an arrival sign-up sheet for documentation purposes.

3am
Araneta Center closes down, most of the lights were turned off. Weird people started to pass by. An old gay man in a tight shirt smiled at me. Eww!! A trannie was making her rounds. Tambay na lasing people joined in the fun.

4am
Sign-up sheet was already on its 5th page. Cutie guys started to arrive.

5am
Hard rain and gale force winds started to shower us. Just heard from the radio that its already signal number three in the metro.

6am
Free breakfast from Tita Emy, a lady we reserved a slot at 2am. The perks of having the power of the sign-up sheet.

7am
Games today are cancelled, according to Tita Emy.

8am
No tickets today! Worthless.

9am
I went home as the typhoon started to emerge. Trees swayed with the wind.

10am
Dozed after arriving at home. Power loss.

11am
Typhoon gets stronger. A tree branch fell down the backyard.

12nn
Transferred the heavy gas range and oven inside the house plus the LPG tank. We can't cook outside anymore.

1pm
Rain still spurts through the locked windows.

2pm
Gutter-high flooding in the streets.

3pm
Heard from the radio that a person parking his car in Makati was trampled to death by a giant billboard.

4pm
Took pictures of uprooted trees outside the house.

5pm
Dozed off again.

6pm
Played Super Mario 64 again and again.

7pm
Ate dinner beside the stove.

8pm
Went outside the house. The street was soo dark that the sky is much brighter.

9pm
Cellular phone battery's dead. Can't text anyone right now.

10pm
Rechargable lamp flickers and slowly dims to black.

11pm
Snuggled with my *ahem*

12mn
Sleep.

How was your day?

The Festival Continues

Finally, after being shelved for a few months, the Kumpas ng Buhay video was shown to a whole class. Yes, my Theo 151 class saw my heartbreaking social awareness MTV. Maam Tessa was amazed with my work. The entire class applauded after it was shown.

And now the Video Fest continues with another classic Bretch music video. Close was created for theo 131. The entire video report lasts for 26 minutes and the music video serves as a commercial gap for the news format discussion on homosexuality. The title of the news program is 24 Minuto ng Badap Badap, a parody on Wazzup Wazzup.

Bretch Video Festival

A good way to celebrate the 4th anniversary of BRETCH online is to have a video festival of sorts. One of my least popular videos I made was this music video remix for Sci10 class in collaboration with Vip. During that time in 2003 when I was editing this video, I really dont know how to maximize the use of Adobe Premiere Pro's transition and color key effects. The result is a primitive but byte-busting slide show rendered on my DV cam. Powerpoint would have done a better job with less the fuss.

that big eared dog

I just came home from a music video shoot in school. Its been a while since I staged a medium budget production like this. Unfortunately, some of the scenes were accidentally deleted! Now we have to shoot that first scene again. Oh well, I cant wait to edit it. Maybe I'll start editing now. Hehehe.

social awareness

This is a video I made a year ago for Theo class. It was created during the time of the ultra stampede. Preferential option for the poor huh.

Enjoy!

Time flies when hell's just around the corner.

Slowly but surely, September ushers in a hell of a week for me and a for some people I know. The only thing to look forward to is that the BER months are almost here. I really wish that I could survive all of these.

And like the seasons, there is also a point in time wherein my EXes try to come back into my life. Unfortunately for them, I don't like seasonal love flings anymore, something more long term and transcending physical attraction. Buti nga sa inyo. HAHAHHAHAHA!

Bakit kaya, di ba its all about the money naman sa mundo na to?
